Be like Michelle Wie: Stay Centered & Balanced

Watch the video above to learn why Michelle Wie is so consistent AND generates a ton of power.  She is one of the longest hitters on the LPGA Tour and when you incorporate these motions into your own swing, you can be consistent and long too.  🤜💪

Okay, welcome to True Motion Golf. This is Tim Overman lead instructor. Just gonna of go over something I think that you guys will really like. The first thing that we always talk about as being centered and balanced throughout the whole swing.

I'm gonna pull up this tour player, that's Michelle Wie and I want you to watch how stable and how centered she stays, throughout our backswing. Look at this head doesn't move. Her head's going down. So if her head's moving down, what's that mean? If head goes this way, it means she's pushing into the ground.

She's using what? Some ground forces. Even in her back swing, she's pushing into the ground, which lets us know there's a really good chance she's right Palm down, because if I go right Palm down. My feet are going to go down. My right Palm goes down and look at this.

Here we go.

Take her to the top of the swing . Look how centered she stayed, folks. Look how short and compact that backswing is. Nice little straight left arm. We call that a nice little punch of the left arm. That's the top of her swing. Now she's going to get a little sequencing going here. Notice before she gets to the top of the swing.

. Her lower body moves forward that sequencing, and she's going to use their feet to initiate the downswing, and the way she's moving her feet in the ground is why her body is opening up. She is not under any circumstance getting to the top of the golf swing and firing her hips.

That does not happen. That is not real. and that's why there's a lot of injuries in golf. She's using her feet just like a hockey player into the ground. And that's how she creates rotation. And that's what you're gonna learn here at True Motion Golf .

The key here, centered and balanced. That's what I want you to take from this video of this tour player. Hope you enjoyed it. Try to incorporate that into your golf swing and it's going to be a heck of a lot more enjoyable.
